The champions of the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball and U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball will now receive automatic exemptions from qualifying into the U.S. Amateur and U.S. Women’s Amateur Championships, respectively, beginning in the 2021 USGA championship season.

Based on age and eligibility criteria, the Amateur Four-Ball champions could also earn exemptions into the U.S. Junior Amateur, U.S. Mid-Amateur and/or U.S. Senior Amateur. The Women’s Amateur Four-Ball winners may receive exemptions into the U.S. Girls’ Junior, U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur and U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur.

Also beginning in 2021, the sides who advance to the quarterfinals of both the Amateur Four-Ball and Women’s Amateur Four-Ball will earn exemptions from qualifying for the following year’s championships.

The 6th U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball will be played at Maridoe Golf Club, in Carrollton, Texas, April 24-28, 2021. The 6th U.S. Amateur Four-Ball will be contested on May 22-26, 2021 at Chambers Bay, in University Place, Wash., and The Home Course, in DuPont, Wash.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball and U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball were canceled last year. In 2019, Scott Harvey and Todd Mitchell won the Amateur Four-Ball, while Duke University teammates Megan Furtney and Erica Shepherd claimed the Women’s Amateur Four-Ball.
